G.I. Joe Classified Big Ben Review: Unveiling the Pros and Cons of this Action Figure!

Story by Mitchell Smith
Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at G.I. Joe Classified Big Ben. I don’t normally frown on figures in general and I’m not saying I don’t like Big Ben, but there are some issues. Don’t get me wrong this is an awesome looking figure, but for the much higher price for this figure he comes with very little extras. I get figures like Tripwire, Mutt, and Scrap Iron being priced higher as they come with a lot of extra gear and/or animal. Big Ben though falls very short on accessories. He does have a really cool sub machine gun, but his full size machine gun although all right was bent in a circle.
The package was not damaged so I’m not sure how this happened on mine and I can’t say as there is anyone to blame, but it just made one less accessory for Ben. Maybe i can straighten it somehow. I think this figure should have at the very least come with a back pack and a satchel filled with grenades much like his original O-ring figure. Then there is the gas mask extra head. OK it looks ok but I would have rather had an extra head without his hat or just a removable hat and no extra head at all. I’m not sure why Hasbro started with these pistols with extra long clips either.
They just don’t look right. I’m perfectly happy with a normal clip that doesn’t make the weapon awkward. Overall I love this figure I just think he would have been a grand slam with a few accessories that the original figure came with. I also had an issue with his arm popping off. I’m not sure if it was because of the cold, but the little round shoulder cuff went flying and I had to get down and retrieve it from underneath my work bench. Just be careful I’m not sure if this was just my figure or if other figures arms may pop off taking snow or cold area pics. Who picked up Big Ben?
Was your machine gun malformed? Who would love too see a repaint as the 2000 Arctic version with a Whiteout classified figure? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
